The run from Cody Wyoming to Bemidji Minnesota was memorable.
- Apparently when we left Cody, the Aguahot had blown out its transfer fluid. What that means is that we had no hot water or heat until we could fill it up again.
- We lost one of the tire pressure monitors.
- Two cracks mysteriously appeared in the front windshield. We have no idea how that occurred.
We didn’t discover the Aguahot issue until we were parked in an overnight spot in a little KOA in Miles City Montana. Fortunately they had showers so we didn’t smell too bad.
So we went out looking for Aguahot Transfer Fluid and discovered that no one had ever heard of such a thing in Miles City.
Our next destination was a primitive campsite in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. There were no hookups and we were hoping that the National Park had public showers.
No such luck.
We were paid for 2 days, but decided to leave after one due to the Aguahot issue. We lost one days camping fee, a whopping $7.00, and got back on the road looking for Aguahot Transfer fluid. After intensive searching on the internet we found a place in Bismarck that had it. AT $70.00 per gallon. We picked up two gallons. The folks that sold it to us, think it was the only Aguahot fluid in North Dakota.
The Walmart we decided to overnight at, we added transfer fluid to the Aguahot, but then the Aguahot starting throwing “failed to ignite” errors. Still no hot water.
The next morning we ran for Bemidji. Scanning the internet we found a RV dealer outside of Bemidji that was an Aguahot dealer. We got on the phone and persuaded them to take the RV in and see what they could do. We prepared to overnight in a hotel and drove to the Caravan meeting point in Bemidji.
About 3 hours after we dropped off the RV dealer called and said they couldn’t fix it, come and get it.
Talking with Caravan Tailgunner who was talking to a Aguahot mechanic in Florida, we decided to download the Aguahot service manual so we could find the circuit breaker resets. We took the Aquahot partially apart and reset the breakers.
Voila!! It started up.
We don’t know what caused the initial failure and we are watching the Aguahot like a hawk with fingers crossed.
So right at the moment we seem to be functional – solar array is still a problem – but functional enough to go on the caravan.
Arrrrrrrgh!!!!!
