Start of Music Tour Caravan 3415 Miles

After returning from Bozeman and taking a day to recover we set out for our second caravan – the Made in America Music Tour. The caravan started in Branson Mo. We took two days to get there – overnighting once in a Oklahoma Wal-Mart

Day 1 Branson – Made in America Music Tour

The first day of the music tour took us to the College of the Ozarks, which does not charge the students tuition. Instead the kids spent 15 hours a week working in various jobs on campus.

After College of the Ozarks, we went to the Dolly Parton Stampede.

Day 2 Made in America Music Tour

On Day 2 we had two shows and I took pictures in neither of them.

The first was The Number One Hits Of the Sixties . This was a high energy singing show that was a lot of fun.

the second show was the Haygoods – another high energy family act that claims to be the best show in Branson. Maybe it was.

Day 3 Made in America Tour

The Wagonmaster made a joke this morning that he gets a bonus if the guests gain 10lbs or more on the tour. We think he is trying his best.

This morning we were treated to breakfast and lunch at a steak house.

After breakfast we started with a shopping trip to the Branson Landing. An expensive undertaking. The water fountain was not quite as inspiring as we hoped.

That afternoon we went to the Sight and Sound Theater for a production of David. This was the biblical story of David. The production was quite spectacular and well done.

Day 4 Made in America Tour

In the morning, we went to see Clay Cooper at his theater in the morning. He quickly became one of our favorite shows in Branson.

The evening show was on the Branson Belle, ashow boat that prowls the lake. Excellent music and magic by the emcee.

Day 5 Made in America Tour

Normally amusement parks are not our thing, but this morning started with a bus trip to Silver Dollar City. We shared Silver Dollar City with some middle and high school kids who were not a problem. We didn’t ride any of the rides except for the steam train – which of course got held up half way through the ride. The high part of the trip was the tour of the cave that started it all, Marvel Cave

The good folks at Disneyland should consider sending their staff here to learn how interact with their guests. Every member of the staff was friendly and delighted we were there.

That evening we closed Branson out with a trip to the Presleys Country Jamboree – a long running music and comedy show that was well done and quite entertaining.

We decide we loved Branson and will return.
